Tiki master Paul McGee knows how to transport Chicagoans from a winter wonderland that is Chicago to a tropical paradise in this Logan Square hideaway. Paul McGee helped start tiki bar Three Dots and a Dash back in 2013 that had lines running out the door for hours. Just when he quickly gain national accolades for Three Dots and a Dash. He then leaves Three Dots and a Dash barely at its height to help create Lost Lake in 2015 with much anticipation. Already a two time James Beard Foundation Award finalist and capturing World’s 50 Best Bars. Lost Lake is one of my favorite bars in the city.
The drinks are perfect. What can I say?! The signature drink appropriately named Lost Lake is just right with aged jamaican rum, pineapple, passionfruit, campari, maraschino, and lime. The decor is just enough of what you need to transport yourself to a beachside bar in the middle of Chicago. The service is always on point with plenty of water and never empty glasses. During COVID, take advantage of their cocktails to go through their take out window or their rum and cocktail club series for a at home tasting with notes which is worth every dollar. When bars open up after COVID and you are able to catch seat, rest assured that you will be getting a great drink especially when you see a guy with a long beard behind the bar making them.
